Updated over a year ago

One of the most important things to music creators is getting their music heard. That's now even easier with Session Studio! You can release your music directly to TuneCore, with your lyrics and credit information attached. This saves you time when organising your release as all the information from the idea stage onwards is already there in Session Studio. If you dont have a TuneCore account already you can create one directly using this sign-up link.

Setting up a new TuneCore account

The first couple of steps are identical

Click on your name in the top right hand corner and scroll down to Profile

There you will see Basic, IDS and Connections tabs. Click on the Connections tab and click Connect to TuneCore.

Click on 'I need an account'. Follow the TuneCore sign-up process, verify your TuneCore email account and then go back to the Profile in Session Studio and Connect account.

How To Create a TuneCore Release

Navigate to the Releases tab and click on Create Release in the bottom right hand corner. On the TuneCore option click create release.

Search and find the Songs and Audio files you'd like to add to the release. Once you're happy with your selections click Add.

All Lyrics and Credits will be attached to the song as well as the audio. If you haven't added either of these you can go back to the Song to add them. Once they're added, go back to the TuneCore release and hit the Sync button. This will update the Release to show the information you've added.

You can check the information from within the release section to check it's correct and do any updates needed. You can also choose not to attach the Lyrics to the release if you like. When you're happy with all the information hit Export.

You will then have a small amount of information to fill in as shown below. All fields except for recording location are mandatory. When it comes to e.g. 'Release Date', note that TuneCore recommend setting the release date four weeks after the date of export.

You will then get a message saying the export was successful. When the release is ready to be viewed on TuneCore you will receive a notification and a link in Session Studio that takes you to your TuneCore release.

Once it TuneCore you follow their normal release process and press Distribute. Note that TuneCore might not have been able to import all information from Session Studio but you can easily complement any information needed inside TuneCore.
