Category/Type
Session Studio platform has a categorisation system that helps you identify all of your uploads. Every time you send an audio file to your song project you’ll have to categorize them either as Bounces, Mixes, Stems, Idea, or Masters. This makes all files in the same category get grouped together which turn everything easier to find for you and for your collaborators!
In the Song - Audio tab you can easily label your audio files per type
The different types are:
Bounce: A bounce can be a recording, in any state of your recording process. Some use it for demo versions and others for the more final versions.
Stem: Stems are the recordings of each instrument in separate files, e.g. rhythm guitars, lead vocals, drums etc..
Mix: Normally a more complete mix when the recording starts coming together, can be used for sending it to the mastering studio.
Master: The final recording once you starting to get ready for pitching your song or releasing it to the world.
Idea: An Idea could be a voice memo from the Session Studio mobile app, a beat or early recording.
Privacy
You can turn any file that you upload into a private file. Just select “private” when you’re uploading it, or click as private in the left corner of the file. While this is selected you’re the only one who have access to this specific file.
The audio files you upload in Session Studio are only visible to your song collaborators (controlled in the Access tab). If an audio file in a song is set to private, it will only be visible to you. You can change at any time. If not set to Private means it will be visible to your song collaborator, not the world.
Creators that you add to the Song - Credits will not have access to the Song nor the audio files.
Share
You can create permanent share links to send any music that you want to your collaborators! Do you want some feedback, need to send a master file or want to send an idea to someone? Create a share link by clicking in the Three dots. Name your share link, select if you want files do be downloadable or not and to send this to anyone!
Edit
If you think you forgot to add a note in your file, or need to change the file title and type, just click on edit and change the thing that you want.
Mark as Latest
If you’re uploading different versions of the same idea, you'll need a way to quickly understand which is the latest version. That’s where “Mark as latest” shines. You can mark any file with a “favorite” sign, so now you know which on of you uploads was the latest one, or which one is the most important.
